Knit Anele by saltytowel Knit Anele by saltytowel
This is the first Wig Bag Trio character, from the joint story I'm working with :iconmoonkestrel:.
Knit has a certain ability that lets her manipulate dreams, put people to sleep, and... well, more in the story when it comes out!

Very pretty portrait painting of a woman!
At first glance, she reminds me of Megara! :D

I'm getting a feeling of an ancient Greek/Roman theme here.

Wait I remember now it reminds me of the Disney movie: Hercules. I don't know why though.?

It's their wavy/curly hair probably

Not entirely, you can see more of her design here fav.me/d7rsp25 though you do get a bit of the vibe here, courtesy of salty :P

Just trying to help out with that, because it's not entirely the idea or vibe we're going for.

I don't mind at all, It's not like I Commissioned it. So I can't say anything bad or force changes. Besides it brings back some nice memories.

You can always say there's something wrong with it, even if you didn't commission it. I was just trying to stablish it wasn't that vibe in general for the story, since we wanted to tease people with it :3 Nice memories?

I see, and what I mean by Nice memories is the good half of my childhood watching those movies and shows.

Beautiful:) ... Even though I imagined her face a little bit wider... Is it only me, or does she have that Mona Lisa smile?:)

Yeah, Tink emphasized this and it was much narrower before. Looks better now, hmmmm.
She has a bit of that smile, I think :D

What I love is he actually added some freckles :P and yes, she has a rounder face but she's still SO beautiful! As for the smile, who knows?

Wow, she's beautiful! By the way, I've always wanted to ask you what you use for your art? Like, what tablet (I suppose you use a tablet?) and what program?

She is, and based loosely on a living person (hint: she's working with me on this project).

Sure, np to answer that.
I use an intuos3 medium (that's A5 size) and photoshop CS6 (recently upgraded from CS5).

Oh that's interesting! Since I got my Wacom today, I'm quite a beginner to digital art. Any tips maybe?

Congrats! What wacom did you get? :)

Tips: Take your time getting used to the tablet, it will minimize your frustration if you understand that getting used to drawing on a tablet takes a while (sometimes a long while).
Also, play with the pressure sensitivity and see how it works for you. If you're using photoshop, F5 will bring you the brush menus where you can change the different effects the pen's pressure will have on your brush strokes.
Other than that, enjoy the freaking new tablet! Wooooohoooooo! :D

I don't use photoshop, I use GIMP because it's free... I am slowly getting used to it. I'll remember your tips, thanks a thousand times :D

GIMP is a bit though to start with. Try finding FireAlpaca, the flow of things is much easier so you are not as frustrated by your learning to use the tablet itself. (I've only been doing digital art since a year ago). Most of the first things I practised was tracing artworks to get the whole "where the pen goes, the line goes" thing working.

It's a free simple version of SAI, but it's fun to try out and to help you get the rig of things, it helped me a lot.
